@_-Unity-_ it definitely was early on. Meaning like 10 years ago for me almost. But it got to a point where like I'm not creating as much music as I want. But that was me trying to experiment so much more and create something to make these amps work or you know just like work through stuff. And now at this point I've fucked around with these amps offhandedly without anything in mind and then I'm more able to pick something up going yeah I think this was work with this guitar. Maybe this type of bass maybe this type of tuning and go with it. And that's you know experience and just having it here. There's still times that I take like an hour or two and decide what I want to fucking utilize. But I've tried to minimize that as much as possible to get as much ideas out of my head for creating songs in any various projects.

I can't do it on my cell phone videos with the software that I purchased. So I'm waiting on another Cyber-shot and that's why a lot of stuff has been on the back burner for that portion

I'm going to start on this. it'll be a sorta multi part series. cause if I did it in one massive video It'll probably be 2 hours. but I'll do my best to basically lay out what I'm using for each. cause I still feel tuning is individual thing but for certain guitars I'll note out some specific instances of maybe using certain types of heads.

It should be pretty easy to find on ebay. I did someone was selling one on fb market and I just went to ebay instead because I rather deal with that than some scum. and you are right blending with a room mic would probably make it more awesome. I def need to start messing around with that more. One of my friends I was in a band with for years who still plays and records was all about the recording aspect but has gotten more anal about it instead of my approach of one two lets go.

@@ShaolinLambKiller yeah I imagine online is probably the best place rather than dealing with marketplace. I don't even like having to sell stuff on there lol. I've been getting more into the room mic thing recently, for most of my stuff a close mic or IR is too clean and direct sounding and I've been trying to recapture the vibe of my old phone recordings because they just had more wall of sound type quality even though they aren't as in your face. I like the one two let's go approach as well lately I'm just doing a single mono guitar with thick distortion and I switched to a drum machine that lets you just have a solo room mic which gets that sound more like it was recorded in a garage or practice room. Sometimes just a hint of distortion like a rat on the drums too can be cool if you want it real gritty but it can thin it out too much sometimes. It's not perfect but until I get a real kit and more space I'm pretty happy with it

Thank you. That one I did add to the Ironbird. cause I felt it was appropriate and fitting. that Ibanez yeah that was straight up on there already and just sold me on that guitar. wasn't great when I got it but after decades I finally got some awesome releases out of it.

@@ShaolinLambKiller it really adds to the ironbird as well, it's a shame those guitars are stupid expensive now. The Ibanez is pretty sick, I'd have bought it just for that as well lol. Wonder where the sticker is even from haha. I need another Ibanez I've been after an RG350 for a while that I can gut and just make it single humbucker and put some stickers on and rip some punk riffs on it.

@CryptToneMusic I don't know I assumed it was like some Dungeons and Dragons type of shit from the 80s or something you could get from Spencer's or Craftsman's from the mall, back in the day. Cuz I definitely haven't seen another one like that who would have been cool if it's like some Lord of the Rings Army of the Dead related but I doubt that

And I think also leaning a little bit into the more Punk side of some dbeat helps. Because sometimes I mean I came across a lot of d beat that yeah it's the same old same old like it might be fun right then and there but you won't remember anything after the fact. Wow sometimes I will still buy those bands but I always try to keep it interesting and fun for me to play like whenever I'm thinking about these projects. I'm acting as if I'm going to be out there performing for hundreds of people like I've done in the past. I mean I'm not going to ever play with this project live but that's how I approach it like if I was going to go see this or if I was going to perform for an audience I want something that's going to be just devastating

I have another eight songs I was going to just go ahead and put with this album but I felt that it really made overall less impactful and just bloated. So those songs since they were a different session will come out later this year

And I'm really glad that you know at least someone else is enjoying the Terra trance material I really enjoy doing it and I plan on you know basically doing that as a you know random feel like writing everything in one day and then just going with it. @@ShaolinLambKiller I’ve gotten to where I play my guitar through bass cabs. That low end buzz saw sound is magic.

@@whyismyeyetwitching there's nothing wrong with that I saw vital remains performing using 810 cabs I have also been a big fan of when I actually did go play live when I was playing guitar always had a 412 and at 2:15 cab for that low end crunch. And then with a lot of my bands where I was drumming and we were virtually a trio with no bass player that's what my guitarists did as well. And what some people don't realize or like nobody's ever asked but a lot of times when I record nasty distorted bass I actually just run a guitar head on a regular well my 612 cab. That Distortion just translates better in a recording that way like I would never do that live trying to do that and then you have to of course be pushing a hell of a lot more wattage

Yeah it's pretty much like a rat. I mean I found this one for 20 bucks and then I paid like eight bucks shipping and I was like I like the design of it. Like it might be a better Bass Distortion that I might use and I'll explore that later on I'm trying to discover why my fucking Fender precision bass is sort of fucking shit out on one of the pickups. Because it's not the input like I thought it was

@@_-Unity-_ I am in a standard. As far as string gauge for bass I think that my Fender P bass has a 160 for the lowest. It's been a minute since I've replaced it because I don't replace my strings as often as most people do just because I go back and forth through so many guitars and bases so I think the last time I replace them was last year but there's something fucking up with my pickup obviously. I also I know you can go further but I like a little bit of looseness you know a little bit of flop so to say with my strings. Like I want them to kind of reverberate a little bit more than just like a tight response

But I'm trying to wrap up some of my other projects that that's basically been sitting around waiting for me to mix. So probably the next stuff I know I'll be uploading on RUclips it's going to be kamikaze pilots that I wrote back in 2019 and 2020

@@Achamian that is indeed mine as well and I'm glad that people are digging it. As far as how many projects I'm working on right now I guess I have a list of some immediate things that I want to get done like I already have a new boiled tongue that I just need to mix down everything is done and everything with the pre-production is done. I have another louching rekease that is ready to be mixed down. I have brand new kamikaze pilots. Which will be two separate releases mainly due to the drum sound on each one is going to be totally different just because I had changed up what I was doing at that time and how I was working on stop. Like the kick drums are going to sound completely different one I was just using still a normal wooden batter on a G3 ply head. And the new stuff I'm using with my new metal beaters and a click pad on an aquarium actually I can't remember exact brand but they don't sound the same is it going to end up on different releases. I have up on the docket to record on drums. New brand called mouth of cedar and however it's supposed to be spelled I can't remember both of them are with my friend Pan and he has a few othwr projects in the works, a new Grind project with some friends called penorsores , I'm tracking drums for Raum and doing the vocals it was just a long time sludge project that I started with my friend back in 2008 we recorded one demo with the original drummer and here we are this far along where we're finally going to re-record those songs from the demo and the songs that we have been playing live sporadically on and off every year since, and then with that same friend I am doing drums for his old his hero is gone inspired hardcore band that used to be called 100 eyes but now he's just going to call it 99 eyes because he decided to do everybody's Parts besides drums because he can't do those. And a new death grind band with somebody else he wants to work with. Then I also have new hymn, hierarchies, and a death Doom band all three of those are with my friend Nick. And that's about all I can think of like that's on the docket to be done immediate

By the way, who is the designer of your album covers? Is it you? I love the style. (I'm thinking in particular of the Uzumaki covers.)

@@Achamian most of the material will be uploaded here on my channel some of the stuff like that cave 3 that's being released by centipede Abyss gets uploaded by their channel the Avant void Channel he runs meaning pan. And some of the other stuff that I am doing like stuff with Nick he normally has different channels that will release his stuff. I'm not quite sure about those but most of the grind material that involves just me I'll be releasing on here. As far as who designs depends on which ones that you asking about because some I handle everything and then on other stuff like anything released on centipede Abyss pan handles all of the artwork and layout normally kind of talks to me or if I have some particular piece of artwork that might work he sits there and works with it. But for Uzumaki I did all of the artwork myself and I did the layouts which were very minimalistic. I think the one Uzumaki album that came out on vargheist records I did the artwork but Justin handled all of the layout design

She can't come home to my house because of my aggressive females that are inside. But she is going to my mother's house all the way out in California. And that's going to be the best life for her because she can't see anymore and she's only at most 18 months old. It's a sudden change and that's why she had to come inside. So she's going to have a good life I can't be there inside to make sure she has a good lap Kitty life. My mom can supply that to her. I have too many aggressive boys inside that will absolutely have a fucking shit fit

@warmetalpacifist yeah the speakers in the 612 is a Mauler cab that I built. Up top is celestion hot 100s. And the four below are celestion 70 80s. And the way internally it's structured is basically like 3 212 cabs stacked on each other. The microphone was Shure PG 57. I don't think many people realize at least for recording using a guitar head with Bass is going to give you an absolutely disgusting tone. The main thing why you end up using a bass amp a lot of times is you get that sub going you get more of that bass plowing through in the live event but when you're just recording you don't need all of that low end.

Right now it's just a digitally and I'll update it when I have the physicals in hand. I haven't really thought about a patreon. Yeah I'm still alive. I'm still doing the same old shit meeting recording tons of music and getting it released. I retired pretty much from doing any shows much to people's dismay and them trying to get me to go play shows I just do not want to. They are not fun for me anymore. And I really don't go to many shows at all overall cuz those aren't enjoyable to me as well. I definitely do not like going to New Orleans so I stay out of there. So that's the main reason why you might not have seen me around. My entire free time is around riding my bicycle and recording music

They definitely do not come up often at all. I got my first one say back around 2008 man I got the other four roughly all around the same time because I had to send my head into the shop I wanted a backup because that basically put me down for the band that I was recording with. And I wanted to keep the same tone. I put out a bunch of feelers to my friends to look for some for me. Then when it finally came up I found two that were up on eBay then I found a combo on Craigslist that was not local to me I bid on the ones on eBay pretty much going I'm going to win at least one of these two I don't care which one I end up winning both of them I had asked the person on Craigslist if he was willing to ship it and had not gotten back to me after about 2 weeks and at that time A friend of mine had a friend that was selling his combo and asked if I was going to purchase it and if I was willing to pay for the shipping I said yes because I had already put out the news that I was looking for one and at the same time the guy from Craigslist got back to me and told me yes he was willing to ship so I went ahead and bought both of those as well. I was just lucky enough to have all of those saved up. If I get to a point where I want to scale down I'll let everyone know I'm here know

@kxns I'll definitely let you know I think there is one guy that is on par with me. Because he has a full stack sunn enforcer like the cabs they built for it as well and they have one of the Penetrator full stacks. The ones that were done specifically for Ted Nugent. And as far as I know as the only difference is those were done in camouflage tolex and the name says penetrator instead of Enforcer. But definitely if I do end up selling I'll let you know

That sounds awesome. I love how your set up is and I would love to hear that in person. I absolutely love this amplifier it's the one I exclusively use from one of my bands because you just can't really replicate it any other way. But I think I definitely need to start utilizing them on other projects and since I've rearranged and moved into a new space I'm going to be able to do that more often. And I need to try that cuz I have a betta lead as well. I just never sat there and Blended the two tones which I still think would be pretty damn awesome sounding I might do that next time I fire up the beta cuz I've been using it for a Gore grind project with an eight string and it's just absolutely disgusting

@ShaolinLambKiller hahahahaha, it's funny you say that, I'm also writing goregrind with mine, bass only, though!!!!!!!!! I have a bunch of insanely low tuned instruments in my collection that these amps just seem to love. If you have an Instagram or Facebook account I can send some rough demos and stuff. I'm also super active in the Sunn Amp Owners group on Facebook :), I've been mostly recording with my 1999 Warwick Thumb NT 5 for the time being.

@@ShaolinLambKiller I also have my amps arranged in an ungodly stack. Carvin cab on the bottom, then the Beta Lead, then the Enforcer, and then my Crate is the cherry on top.

All it takes is time and money. I was fortunate at the time I was buying because it was also a time that I had sold many of the paintings that I create. And I didn't have honestly anything else to purchase. But what I always did was everyday during lunch basically scourer any space that I knew guitar amplifiers are being sold on and just looking for deals and going to pawn shops whenever I went out of town. I'm really glad that you found some value in my videos cuz I started them up mainly because I personally was looking for this exact same sort of content. I just wanted to hear what a guitar sounded like with a raw video I did not want to hear how someone processed that sound through their daw.

@@ShaolinLambKiller that's awesome that your artwork could fund another hobby. I love searching used gear stores and websites for cool weird stuff. There's on store I know of that I got my EMC from for 100 bucks they would sell marshall cabs for 300 bucks and giant acoustic 405 4x12s for like 150 they always have cool unique stuff that no one else wants or sees the value in. I especially dig all the Crate amps you got everyone hates on em but they're awesome. I been on the lookout for an AVT series Valvestate as well those are slept on because they're not the 8100 but I think they sound a little better. I really like the raw camera videos, for a while I was chasing getting a cleaner recording sound and when I finally got a computer and interface to record with a daw I found myself missing my old raw recordings and trying to recreate that. A lot of people say the raw in the room sound doesn't matter because it's not mic'd up but I actually like using distant or room mics in my recordings a lot for more atmosphere and rawness. I buy every shitty radio shack or no name mic I find in thrift stores at this point for that reason too. I only use the daw and software for tracking demos but I want to start recording my live amps raw and eventually get a real drum kit when I got more money and space. I just binged a bunch of your old demos and some of your music as well just because it's inspiring and makes me wanna write! I really appreciate your channel man keep doing you!

I'm actually more a drummer than I'd consider a guitarist. I just love gear more than drums because I can make a trash toy kit sound good in performance.

Yeah maggot Crown is just one of my many bands. I can do a rundown of what I ran with each album. And what I did with each it's going to be shocking because it's going to be pretty straightforward. @@_-Unity-_ I definitely dig them I never managed to pick one up though I think I always win one came up I opted for something else that I wanted to get more so at that time but I think they are pretty good substitute for the Supreme like the 160 that I have and that might just be the volume difference but I haven't really gotten to put it through its Paces in my own space with my own cabs and guitars to really tell you an honest opinion outside sounds good wish I've gotten one while there were cheap

So i bought myself a crate gx3500 shockwave and when i return home from work i cant wait to jam it. Thing is i have one cab thats a 2x12 120watt 8ohm mono and a 4x12 3oowatt 16ohm mono/8ohm stereo. If i dont crank it full i should be ok to jam at low levels eh? Also i bought the Maggot crown* discog on Bandcamp! Gonna buy more of your music too, soon. Peace
